Region: Barbera d’Alba, Piedmont, Italy

Viticulture: Traditionally farmed south-east-facing Roscaleto vineyard in La Morra at 320 metres. White clay soils and vines around 40–45 years old. Short Guyot pruning, two green harvests and extremely low yields of around 0.5 kg per vine. Hand harvested.

Winemaking: Fermented for around 26 days in stainless steel, followed by malolactic fermentation in steel. Aged for 24 months in French oak barrels, around 30% new. Returned to stainless steel before bottling without filtration.

Gegründet von Cesare Bussolo, einem Einheimischen aus La Morra, zeichnet sich das Weingut durch traditionelle Weine aus dem Piemont aus, die die Finesse betonen. Unter der Mentorierung von Roberto Voerzio seit 2007 wird Bussolos Ansatz mit geringem Ertrag und umweltfreundlicher Ausrichtung als aufstrebender Barolo-Star angesehen, der Weine von Balance und Eleganz herstellt.
